Matrix PowerStation might revolutionize the way the world works

by Edwin

If there is one thing that continues to plague the modern world, it would be this: the lack of energy or power. Developing countries are hungry for energy resources to power their industries and development, while developed countries all the more require massive amounts of energy to keep the wheels of life turning every single moment. A blackout or brownout might be rare these days for many people, but when it happens, it goes to show just how dependent we are on electricity. Matrix might be on to something new here, having announced the world’s first all-in-one integrated thermoelectric energy PowerStation that is touted to power anything from nothing.

Fisker’s EMotion makes its mark with new solid state battery

by Edwin

fisker-emotionAn electric car is not something that all of us are able to afford, although some of us do dream of driving up in a Tesla that offers exceptional acceleration performance with looks that could kill. However, if there is one thing about electric cars that continue to invoke doubt in motorheads, it would be the battery life. Most electric vehicles have to “suffer” from limited range and long charging times (relatively speaking) as opposed to a petrol or diesel-powered ride. Fisker would like to turn such conceptions upside down with their modern day marvel, the EMotion that will be powered by the patent-pending Fisker Flexible Solid-State Battery.

Matrix reveals the PowerWatch X

by Edwin

PowerWatch-XMost of the time, we would think that a watch is powered through one of three methods: the traditional button cell battery, kinetic energy, or solar power. Matrix decided to take the road less traveled with a no-less adventurous timepiece known as the PowerWatch X, allowing it to run on one’s body heat alone. It is starting to sound as though we are entering an era like the Matrix, where we humans end up as “batteries” for the machines. Still, Matrix’s PowerWatch X is something that boggles the mind, where it will be powered by the wearer’s body itself, which is made possible by a proprietary thermoelectric energy converter.

G-Bike is the first carry-on style electric bicycle in the world

by Edwin

g-bikeWhen it comes to bicycles to get around for the urban commuter, there are many different kinds of models to choose from. Many of us would settle for a regular two-wheeler with a fair number of gears in order to help us tackle the trickier uphill segments along the route. However, regular sized bicycles are normally not allowed to be carried on board trains, making end-to-end connectivity a wee bit more challenging. Portable bicycles or foldable ones, on the other hand, do not really offer the same kind of “kick” as a regular sized bicycle. Enter GreenWheel’s G-Bike, the first carry-on style electric bicycle in the world.

Drain Strain – Work smarter, not harder

by Caitlyn

Drain Strain

We don’t need to invest in precautionary measures, but it’s never a bad idea. Doing so normally results in making sure potentially big problems only have a chance to be little ones that are easy to manage. The more preventative measures you take, the more smoothly your day-to-day operations will remain for a longer period of time. Well, they are the developer of transparent electricity-generating coatings when it comes to glass windows and flexible veneers, and have just announced plans to work on electricity-generating flexible glass. If that were to be realized on a large scale that can be incorporated into building projects all over the world, it would be big news indeed.
