The Boncho makes biking in the rain much more pleasant

When you try to be more conscious of your health and the environment, biking or walking to work can be ways to directly contribute to both. Not only are you getting in some exercise, but you’re not using gas which adds to pollution. Of course, if it’s a rainy day, you’re not going to be as apt to deal with the chance of getting wet.

Instead of giving up completely, why not bike in and use a Boncho? Yes, this is a poncho for bikes, and it was made to do its job without making you feel like you’re stuck in a sweaty oven. This is made of a lightweight material that is water repellent, breathable, and can be stored away as easily as a pop-up tent. Since this is a poncho, your bike and body will be keeping it open on the bottom, making it much harder to get too hot underneath it.

The hood is just the same as you’d find on any other rain jacket, and smaller helmets can fit under it, though putting helmets over top of the hood will keep it down if there’s any strong wind. There are two straps under the handlebar cover that will keep it from flying into your face, but also won’t trap your hands when you need to signal. These come in grey or mint, and you can choose between small, medium, or large depending on what your height is. This is going to cost you $80, which is pretty reasonable for a nice raincoat.

haha nice, these things have existed for decades in The Netherlands. My mom took me to school on a bike wearing one of those, about 30 years ago. Don’t fall for it though, they usually cost about €30.
