Bomboard- The Personal Watercraft that Fits in Your Truck!

Boy, I’m aching for summer. I’ve had about all I can take of the cold weather, and snow. I can feel the sand between my toes, feel the cool umbrella drinks in my hand, and I can smell the suntan lotion. How cool would it be to have a little boat, or a jet ski? But then you have to get a trailer, figure out how to back it into the water, or pay to store it at a dock somewhere, and with all that work, how much are you going to really use it?

Well, check this out! The Bomboard, weighing it at only around 150 pounds, is the worlds first completely modular watercraft, designed to come apart into 4 different pieces, allowing you to break it down, and stow it in your backseat, or the trunk of your car! In less than a minute the BomBoard can be assembled (or disassembled) into four small, light weight modules that are easily transported by just one person. The Bomboard can be ridden in a standing, kneeling or sitting position, is highly maneuverable, and it can reach wind-in-your-hair speeds of up to 40 mph.

Because BomBoard is lighter than most jet skis, it hooks you up with faster acceleration. Bomboard also boasts a tighter turning radius for faster turns, and because the machine is closer to the water, you get to feel the speed and exhilaration even more than with your traditional jet ski. With a low operating cost, and a price tag under 3,500 bucks (or 99 dollars a month) it makes summertime fun affordable to more people than ever before. If you’d like to get out on the water someday, visit and get on the waiting list. Unfortunately, it looks like they won’t be shipping until next spring.

This little watercraft answers a true need, but with four separate pieces, it appears to be too difficult to assemble and disassemble quickly and easily, and at $3,500, it’s out of the reach of the 99 percent. Back to the drawing board, methinks…

It assembles in under a minute and can be carried by hand from your car trunk to the water. No single piece weighs more than 80 pounds. Not light, but certainly manageable. As for the price, it’s $1500 cheaper than the cheapest jetski on the market right now.

Until I see a video of someone assembling this in under a minute (without the help of a chauffeur or bodyguard), I am very skeptical of that claim. And even if the Bomboard is cheaper than a Jetski, it still seems a toy designed for the one percent.

Julie, did you watch this video yourself? The part showing the guy assemble the Bomboard is highly edited. I am still quite skeptical that this vehicle assembles “in under a minute.” As for affordable at $3,500 — maybe for a trust-fund baby or young urban professional who is fully employed until his conglomerate lays him off in his forties…
