– Smartphones Help to Prevent Pregnancy?

We’ve all seen the campaigns before, touting the benefits of safe sex or abstinence, mostly targeted towards our girls. Teenage pregnancy rates are astronomical, and while teen pregnancy rates in the United States have fallen in recent years, our country still has a higher rate than any other developed country. So what do we do now? Kids know how to prevent pregnancy, why aren’t they doing it?

Check out, its a website that doesn’t tell you what to do, or how to do it… it suggests what your life might be like if you don’t! Utilizing everyday cell phones, kids (or parents) can  turn their friend’s cell phone into digital baby for an entire 12 hours in order to simulate what it would be like to have a baby as a teen.

Users simply send their friends the message that their phone has been hijacked and turned into a digital baby that will now require their care and attention for a whole day and then, for the next 12 hours their new bundle of rechargeable joy will alert them to the fact that they require food, sleep, or diaper changing. In the end, participants are directed to challenge more friends to take on a digital baby for the day and are given some helpful info about teen pregnancy.

Anyway, if you sign up and challenge 5 friends to The “Digital Baby” Pregnancy Text, you’ll not only have fun spoofing your friends while teaching a valuable lesson, you’ll have the chance to win a $2000 scholarship to boot. To learn more about the program or to sign up please visit
