Archos 28 and 32 Internet tablets set to rock CES 2011

CES 2011 is just around the corner – can you feel the heat? Assuming you say no, well, here we are to help fan those flames into a raging fire, bringing you news of the Archos 28 and Archos 32, with both of them being Internet tablets that are powered by the Android operating system, with the intention of revolutionizing the MP3 and portable media player market at the same time thanks to the inclusion of Wi-Fi connectivity, all without breaking the bank. Boasting 8GB of internal memory, this ought to be more than enough for users to play and listen to more than 4,000 songs regardless of where they are at that point in time, while being able to take advantage of a range of Android-based applications that allow them to chat, game and partake in social networking – as long as there is an Internet connection, of course.

Both of the tablets mentioned are extremely pocket-friendly in terms of their size, with the Archos 28 measuring 3.9” x 2.1” x 0.35” while the Archos 32 is slightly larger at 4.1” x 2.1” x 0.3”, retailing for $99.99 and $149.99, respectively. Sounds pretty darn cheap to us, comparing it to the Apple iPad, but of course, you won’t be able to enjoy the iPad’s amazing App Store support, but there is a price to pay for everything, don’t you think so?

With the Archos 28 and 32, you can store, play and discover more music with free access to all the great music applications including the once popular Napster (which has since been revived). Users will be able to easily access music from these open-platform MP3 players at a comparable price to MP3 players with closed platforms. Archos will also throw in the Music Cover Carrousel, a built-in music application which enables users to browse through album covers and add widgets to the home screen, enjoying instant access to media controls.

Bought a 32 just before Christmas as a gift and within a couple of days the lcd screen cracked and now it is useless. When I called, they told me that I mishandled it. All I did was put it in my pocket. Some portable product!!!! Will never buy one again. I am definitely not recommending this product or company to anyone!!!! Very disappointing that the company does not stand behind their product!!!
