USB to SATA/IDE Combo Kit

usb-sata-ideIt is commonplace to have a bunch of hard drives waiting for us at home these days, considering the amount of information there is available for download online. In addition, those hard drives more often than not need to be upgraded after a couple of years or so in favor of larger capacities and higher performance, but what do you do with older ones? Why, get the USB to SATA/IDE Combo Kit and you ought to be just fine.

You can dock just about any of those old drives into this simple device. Sick a USB transfer cable into one end along with the power-cable, and in one of the other ends, you can connect a 3.5″ IDE hard drive, or a laptop 2.5″ IDE drive, or even a miniscule 1.8″ IDE hard drive! But, why stop there? You can connect a SATA drive, too! How about an optical disk drive? We’ve got it covered. Blu-Ray, DVD, CD, writeable, rewriteable… it doesn’t matter! We’re drive agnostic with our USB to SATA/IDE Combo Kit. Now your old drives have a brand new life. Or, if you’re the handy type, you can keep this one device handy to recover data from a drive in a dead computer. You won’t have to haul several different devices – just this one!

Sounds like $24.99 well spent, this.

I bought the USB SATE/IDE Combo kit for $19.95 plus shipping ($28.00).

Tested it on a working IDE and a SATA hard drive, could hear both drives spin up but computer could not see them.

The IDE does not matter, I have external cases to put them in. But now I have to spend money to buy the only other SATA to USB option out there.
