VuPoint Solutions PC-C520-VP

by Mark R

It has been about a year since we covered a product from VuPoint Solutions. For those who aren’t familiar with VuPoint Solutions, they are a company that makes digital cameras as well as devices that can convert prints and slides into digital formats.

I got a chance to see their latest model of their print photo-to-digital file converter at CES. The PC-C520-VP is a definite step up from the PS-C500-VP, as the C520 has a 2.4 inch TFT LCD color display so you can see what the photos look like before they are scanned.

The PC-C520-VP scans at a high resolution of 2592 x 1800, and uses a 5 Megapixel CMOS sensor. It uses a fixed focus and automatic color balance for 3 x 5, 4 x 6, and 5 x 7 photos. The PC-C520-VP also has an SD card reader, and a video out to connect to a big screen TV.

I definitely need the PC-520-VP, because I have boxes of old prints stored away that desperately need to be updated for the digital age. I suppose that it would take many hours, but it would be worth it to finally have all those old photos on JPEG files to manipulate or send to others.

I was told that it would take a few months for the PC-C520-VP to be available, but it should be found at many online stores and retailers like Bed, Bath, & Beyond quite soon.

I have a VuPoint Solutions – Digital Photo Converter. Model number PS-C500-VP.
It came with 3 photo trays : 3″x5″, 4″x6″, and
5″x7″. I am wondering if there is a smaller tray
I have a few very old photos of my parents and are
about 3″ x 3″. I tried to use the 3 x 5″ and the
photo slide off into the scanner.
Any Suggestions? Thank you –

I have VUPoint PS-C500-VP Digital Photo Converter. When trying to install using disc on my Windows XP HP Pavilion dv8301nr Notebook PC this message comes up: “Continuing your installation of this software may impair or distabilize correct operation of your system. Microsoft strongly urges to stop installation now and contact the hardware vendor for software that has passed windows logo testing.” Is there another disc that would be acceptable for my computer?
