Teens invent vanishing nail polish

Vanishing Nail Polish

When I was in school, I always dreaded the thought of having to wear a uniform. Other schools in the state had adopted the idea, and our school district had discussed the possibility as well. I’m the kind of person who likes to express myself, so I don’t like being told that I must dress exactly like the next guy. Apparently there were a group of girls at a British high school that wanted to stand out a bit too. So much that they invented sunlight-reactive nail polish.

Normally nail polish is about the last thing that I would choose to write about, however, this is awesome because a bunch of teenagers created the stuff. Their school prohibits the wearing of any sort of makeup, which means that they aren’t even allowed to wear nail polish, because it would have to be removed before the next school day.

The girls developed a special type of nail polish that looks bright and colorful when exposed to the sunlight. However, once they go inside away from the sun’s rays, the polish simply fades away to clear. How awesome is that? Those teens should patent the stuff, they’d make a mint off girls in similar situations.

Actually, I bought some of this stuff for my wife about seven years ago… I can’t remember the company’s name because I think by now they’ve gone out of business. It’s a cool concept – but no one NEEDS it, so demand is not high enough to sustain it, apparently. That’s just MY stab at why the company folded; I really don’t know.

No one needs it no but along with the fact that these girls can use it, it also could be used for a top layer for ladys that want a different shade/color for outside then when in, it goes to clear and shows the diffrent bottom color.

Excellent! I was wrong that the company had folded! I suddenly remembered the name of it and after a quick Google search I found it again. $10 per bottle! Did I really spend that much, back then or did prices jump up… haha
