Build your own Christmas Stocking

While the title sounds pretty weird as “knit” would be a better choice where wording is concerned, Lillian Vernon has decided to embrace technology by launching the website. How many times, after all, have you suffered stress and anxiety whenever Christmas rolls around the corner because you have failed to finish with your holiday shopping? With, that is set to change. Developed by a 56-year old cataloger, you get to choose from one of over a dozen handcrafted Christmas stockings or totes, personalize them with the recipients’ names and ‘stuff’ them with items specially selected from Lillian Vernon’s array of unique gifts. There won’t be a commercialized look to this, since a vast majority of the gifts on offer are also personalizeable.

Just in case the miser in you wonder whether the personalization effort will cost you additional dough, fret not. These items will be personalized for free, and stockings and stuffers are shipped ready to assemble and give. According to Kristen Montella, Vice President of Lillian Vernon Online, “At regular retail stores, you won’t find a one-of-a-kind gift with your loved one’s name, initials or monogram on it, certainly not in the five minutes or less it takes to build and stuff one of our beautifully customized stockings. That extra thoughtfulness of selecting something unique, something especially for the individual makes a gift memorable, and the time saved adds enjoyment to your holiday.” would work better for the guys IMHO, since it streamlines the shopping experience by presenting an edited selection of gifts based upon the recipient’s gender – be it a man or woman, boy or girl, grandmother or grandfather, teacher, infant. With the vast array of choices, women should have the harder time deciding on the choice of stocking stuffers. The fact that the Internet never sleeps is another advantage, allowing those who work weird hours to still get their Christmas shopping done.
