Progression Wake Up Clock

Progression Wake Up Clock
If you find being jolted awake by that incredibly annoying buzzing from alarm clocks does nothing but irritate you, maybe a more peaceful way to wake up could be what you need. The Progression Wake Up Clock uses a few peaceful techniques to gradually wake you up and get a better, more relaxed start to your day.

It works like a standard alarm clock with a digital read out, allowing you to program in the time that you want to wake up. The peaceful awakening begins 30 minutes before your desired wake up time when the clock begins to glow with a subtle light which over the next 30 minutes slowly swells.

As the light slowly grows brighter, the second technique is released. The heat of the lamp begins to melt the aromatherapy beads which release a calming scent and stimulates your olfactory senses. Included are four types of aromatherapy beads (Energy, Morning Caf, Stress Relief, Lavendar) and you can also use your own aromatherapy oils if you choose.

With fifteen minutes until your wake up time, the third technique begins. Nature sounds begin to play from the clock’s speakers slowly getting louder so you can peacefully wake up to the sound of your choice. You can choose from Nightfall, Thunder Storm, Zen Melody, Mountain Stream, Songbirds, and Ocean Surf sounds to awaken to so you are woken up by what you find most soothing.

At the time of wake up if you are still not awake, a buzzer will sound so you don’t oversleep. Even if you are woken up by the buzzer, however, it will be much more relaxing than just the buzzer alone since you were slowly waking up over the last 30 minutes. You can even have the cycle go in reverse for falling asleep if you choose, so falling asleep and waking up are both more peaceful.

The clock is powered by a standard outlet cord, and also supports 2 AA batteries so you still won’t oversleep if the power goes out.

If you need a more relaxing way to wake up or fall asleep the Progression Wake Up Clock is probably the best solution. You can get one for $49.95 from Hammacher and for an additional $9.95 you can get more aromatherapy beads.

That’s pretty nifty, hadn’t seen a 3 in 1 like that. It’s an ugly piece of plastic though.

@ GrimReeper, I so happen to know – 😉 – some place that sells just the light or light and radio of the same sunrise prinmiple: Sunrise Alarm Clocks – UK based though.

I’d recommend reading what Andrew Grant had to say about the Progression Wake Up Clock over at
We thought it sounded cool but Andrew actually owns one and he’s not that impressed.

I have lost my manual and can’t figure out how to use it without it, does anyone know where I can find an on-line copy of the manual?

You can get a copy of the manual at the Hammacher Schlemmer website.
